Apartments Near Grand Place
The central square of Brussels is named the Grand Place or the Grote Markt, which is beautifully surrounded by guildhalls, the Breadhouse and the Town Hall of the Belgium capital. The square is centrally positioned and is set close to the available hotel apartments Brussels provides. It is also a major tourist destination and a memorable stop along with the Manneken Pis and the Atomium. Today part of the World Heritage Site, the Grand Place served as a market until the end of year 1959 and some of its neighboring streets are still named after the sellers of cheese and butter, herring, etc. In August on every two years, the Grand Place is home to the huge flower carpet, which lasts for a few days. Then million of begonias are set up in patterns and placed over am area of 1800 sq.m.
